In Shanghai's Pudong New Area, more efforts are being made to help production return to normal, with more than 1,100 key production enterprises resuming operations so far, Xinhua News Agency reported.
According to the Shanghai Pudong New Area Science and Technology Commission, a total of 204 foreign-invested production enterprises have restarted work so far, increasing capacity to more than 30 percent of the pre-epidemic level.
At Siemens Healthineers, production has reached more than 80 percent of its normal level, while output at chemical giant BASF and industrial conglomerate ABB's Shanghai bases has recovered steadily to about 70 percent.
For Fosun Kite, a biotechnology joint venture of Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co Ltd and US Kite Pharma located in Zhangjiang, it has returned to half capacity.
More attention will be paid to key small and medium-sized enterprises in the industrial chains of leading foreign enterprises. Statistics showed from January to April, the total industrial output of enterprises above designated size in Pudong New Area reached 354.66 million yuan ($53.2 million).
