China's National Health Commission (NHC) and Brazil's Ministry of Health held the third meeting of the Health Subcommittee of the China-Brazil High-level Coordination and Cooperation Committee via video link on May 17.
The two sides reviewed the progress they've made in health collaboration since the second meeting of the Health Subcommittee in 2019, especially in combating COVID-19.
A consensus was reached to further deepen bilateral and multilateral health exchanges, as well as support and encourage medical institutions to carry out practical cooperation. Experts from both sides also had technical exchanges on tuberculosis prevention and control, cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment and traditional medicine.
Officials from the NHC and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, participated in the meeting.
