On May 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 193 new cases of confirmed infections (17 imported cases, 9 in Fujian province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province; 176 indigenous cases, 88 in Shanghai municipality, 50 in Beijing municipality, 20 in Sichuan province, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Jilin province and 1 in Liaoning province, including 82 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 71 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Liaoning province), no deaths and no new cases of suspected infections.

On May 19, 309 patients were released from hospital after being cured (8 imported cases; 301 indigenous cases, 184 in Shanghai municipality, 39 in Beijing municipality, 17 in Guangdong province, 16 in Shandong province, 13 in Jilin province, 11 in Henan province, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Hebei province, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province). 32,327 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 6.

As of 24:00 on May 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,461 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,269 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 192 confirmed cases (including 1 serious case) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on May 19, the National Health Commission had received reports of 222,775 confirmed cases and 5,218 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 212,651 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 4,906 confirmed cases (including 280 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 3,960,376 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 273,700 were still under medical observation.

On May 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 990 new asymptomatic cases (51 imported cases; 939 indigenous cases, 770 in Shanghai municipality, 102 in Sichuan province, 24 in Henan province, 12 in Beijing municipality, 11 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Jilin province, 6 in Anhui province, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Hubei province).

On May 19, 2,661 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (51 imported cases; 2,610 indigenous cases, 2,294 in Shanghai municipality, 63 in Liaoning province, 63 in Shandong province, 42 in Jiangsu province, 32 in Henan province, 29 in Hebei province, 25 in Jilin province, 24 in Jiangxi province, 9 in Qinghai province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Yunnan province and 2 in Tianjin municipality). 82 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on May 19, 43,766 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 419 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on May 19, 1,402,484 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 331,841 in Hong Kong (9,366 had died and 61,602 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,070,561 in Taiwan (1,235 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
