All supermarkets and small convenience stores in residential communities in Changchun, Jilin province, resumed remote business operations on Friday to meet people's daily needs, officials said.
"Residents can only purchase via online platforms, telephone or WeChat, and commodities will be sent to their doors to avoid any touching," Zhang Li, deputy director of the provincial Health Commission, said at a news conference on Friday.
Changchun had suspended all such business on Sunday, and only online service was available via several designated platforms.
The city carried out its 11th round of mass testing on Friday, during which residents were required to wear N95 face masks dispatched by community workers.
Jilin province reported 1,110 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 900 asymptomatic carriers on Thursday, the commission said. Of the confirmed cases, 576 were found in Changchun, 528 in Jilin city and six in Siping.
Of the asymptomatic carriers, 608 were identified in Jilin city, 290 in Changchun and two in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture.
On Thursday, 451 confirmed cases and asymptomatic carriers were discharged from the hospital or quarantine, including 252 in Jilin, 175 in Changchun and 24 in Yanbian.
As of Thursday, 1,753 people were discharged from the hospital or quarantine.
