Du'an promotes development of cultural tourism

In recent years, Hechi's Du'an Yao autonomous county has actively developed holistic tourism and promoted the county's economic development through cultural tourism industry.

Du'an has a lot of tourism resources and a lot of room for growth. It is recognized as a natural museum of karst landforms because of its abundance of karst formations. The Disu Underground River is regarded as China's first underground river. The Chengjiang National Wetland Park is a wetland park that combines river wetlands, urban wetlands, and agricultural wetlands. It also features stunning scenery along the Hongshui and Diaojiang rivers. In addition, the county boasts a diverse range of ethnic traditions. The national intangible cultural property Miluotuo, for example, has become a cultural brand, while the stick dance of the Zhuang ethnic group is a distinctive dance performance.

Over the years, the county has invested more than 3 billion yuan ($443.6 million) to build a tourism infrastructure and public service facilities, and has built three national parks including Chengjiang National Wetland Park, Underground River National Geopark, and Chengjiang National Water Conservancy Scenic Area, as well as four 4A-level tourism scenic spots, two Guangxi eco-tourism demonstration areas, and 10 star-level rural tourism areas.

The county has also built a number of characteristic tourism accommodation brands such as Miluotuo Resort Hotel, Vienna International Hotel, and Sandaowan River Valley Tribe Hotel, as well as a number of characteristic catering and commodity brands such as Yaoshan beef, Aohan sheep, wild grape wine, yellow rice wine, dry lotus root vermicelli, and rattan weaving.

After years of hard work, outstanding achievements have been made in the development of tourism. In 2021, the county received 2.41 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 31 percent, and the total tourism consumption was 2.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18 percent.
