A work plan to promote the high-quality development of red tourism was recently issued by the Hebei government in North China’s Hebei province.
The plan stipulates that by 2025, red tourism development mechanisms will strengthened, and the educational value of red tourism will be further enhanced, with infrastructure and service quality at related tourist sites to be improved simultaneously. Hebei is striving to become one of the top red tourist destinations in China.
Special research into red culture and related resources will be conducted at red tourism scenic areas, and efforts will also be made to compile information on Party history and formulate tour-guide commentary regulations.
A slew of specially-themed and influential red tourism products will be rolled out, including Saihanba Forest Farm – a vivid example of ecological construction – and Chongli district (in Zhangjiakou city) – a site of the 2022 Winter Olympics.
The province will also strengthen its coordination with Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi and Henan in developing the Great Wall, Grand Canal, and Taihang Mountain for tourism.
