The world's first electric frame transport vehicle, which was independently developed by a high-tech enterprise in Suzhou New District, was recently delivered to customers via an online ceremony, local media outlets reported.
The vehicle, which is safe, environmentally-friendly, efficient and intelligent, can be used to transport steel products and billets and operated round the clock for an annual total of more than 6,000 hours.
Weighing in at around 120 tons, the vehicle can automatically load and unload goods via a built-in hydraulic device and transport about 2,500 tons per day, almost the entire volume of four to five semi-trailers.
The vehicle can also help control operational costs by requiring only one driver and freeing the motor from maintenance for five years.
It can also realize driverless transportation by integrating a mixed navigation method of laser technology, naked eye vision, Beidou Navigation Satellite System, and inertial navigation.
The enterprise, known as Suzhou Dafang Special Vehicle Co, is located in the Xuguan Industrial Park and has a registered capital of 111 million yuan ($16.52 million). It is mainly engaged in the research, design and manufacturing of special purpose engineering vehicles and equipment with its own intellectual property rights.
