Since the beginning of this year, Hechi's Luocheng Mulam autonomous county has continued to intensify its project construction and investment attraction. In the first quarter, the county achieved a regional GDP of 1.59 billion yuan ($235 million), a year-on-year increase of 7.5 percent.
The county is concentrating on the development of niche industries and is speeding up the expansion and redevelopment of Hechi Port and Chengdong Industrial Park. It also accelerated the construction of the snail powder raw material industrial park project and the construction of Long'an pickled cabbage town in order to boost rural vitalization. The county strengthened the industrial chain extension by focusing on high-quality mountain spring water, winemaking, deep processing of forest products, new energy, and new materials.
The county has insisted on luring investment as the core of its economic activities since the beginning of this year. It inked 15 investment promotion projects in the first quarter of this year, totaling around 8.6 billion yuan, in the fields of deep wood processing, new mineral materials, mountain spring water development, and business logistics parks. It maintained its lead in industrial investment, boosted investment in modern agriculture, and drew investment in the health, cultural, and tourism industries at the same time.
In order to optimize the business environment, the county has improved the efficiency of project approval and construction, and improved services for key trade and foreign trade enterprises.
