May 11: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On May 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 324 new cases of confirmed infections (22 imported cases, 11 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Guangdong province; 302 indigenous cases, 228 in Shanghai municipality, 24 in Beijing municipality, 22 in Henan province, 10 in Guangdong province, 10 in Qinghai province, 4 in Liaoning province, 2 in Zhejiang province and 2 in Fujian province, including 210 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 198 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Liaoning province, 2 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Henan province), 7 deaths (all were indigenous cases in Shanghai municipality), and no new cases of suspected infections.

On May 10, 817 patients were released from hospital after being cured (11 imported cases; 806 indigenous cases, 607 in Shanghai municipality, 98 in Jilin province, 38 in Beijing municipality, 16 in Jiangxi province, 8 in Sichuan province, 6 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Henan province, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Shanxi province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Qinghai province). 38,821 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 27.

As of 24:00 on May 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,316 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,151 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 165 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on May 10, the National Health Commission had received reports of 220,721 confirmed cases and 5,198 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 207,955 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 7,568 confirmed cases (including 484 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 3,774,376 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 399,876 were still under medical observation.

On May 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,603 new asymptomatic cases (58 imported cases; 1,545 indigenous cases, 1,259 in Shanghai municipality, 67 in Henan province, 60 in Liaoning province, 49 in Jiangsu province, 44 in Jiangxi province, 13 in Beijing municipality, 10 in Guangdong province, 10 in Qinghai province, 9 in Sichuan province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Jilin province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Guizhou province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Anhui province and 1 in Chongqing municipality).

On May 10, 8,760 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (44 imported cases; 8,716 indigenous cases, 8,094 in Shanghai municipality, 220 in Liaoning province, 156 in Jilin province, 71 in Jiangxi province, 35 in Shandong province, 30 in Anhui province, 29 in Hebei province, 15 in Zhejiang province, 13 in Jiangsu province, 13 in Henan province, 6 in Shanxi province, 6 in Yunnan province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and 1 in Guangdong province). 211 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on May 10, 79,926 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 465 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on May 10, 779,766 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 331,361 in Hong Kong (9,352 had died and 60,718 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 448,323 in Taiwan (943 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
