On May 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 329 new cases of confirmed infections (10 imported cases, 5 in Fujian province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region; 319 indigenous cases, 215 in Shanghai municipality, 44 in Beijing municipality, 25 in Henan province, 21 in Guangdong province, 4 in Qinghai province, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Zhejiang province, including 141 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 135 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Zhejiang province), 8 deaths (all were indigenous cases in Shanghai municipality), and no new cases of suspected infections.
On May 7, 1,115 patients were released from hospital after being cured (13 imported cases; 1,102 indigenous cases, 941 in Shanghai municipality, 59 in Jilin province, 23 in Jiangxi province, 18 in Zhejiang province, 10 in Guangdong province, 8 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Heilongjiang province, 6 in Shandong province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Hebei province, 3 in Shanxi province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 55,844 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 54.
As of 24:00 on May 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,272 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,112 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 160 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on May 7, the National Health Commission had received reports of 219,625 confirmed cases and 5,174 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 205,270 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 9,181 confirmed cases (including 533 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 3,662,998 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 416,869 were still under medical observation.

On May 7, 10,415 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (52 imported cases; 10,363 indigenous cases, 9,839 in Shanghai municipality, 154 in Jilin province, 74 in Jiangxi province, 50 in Zhejiang province, 48 in Jiangsu province, 44 in Hebei province, 37 in Shandong province, 29 in Anhui province, 15 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 11 in Liaoning province, 11 in Henan province, 11 in Yunnan province, 9 in Hubei province, 7 in Shanxi province, 7 in Fujian province, 6 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Guangdong province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Sichuan province). 141 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on May 7, 97,512 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 505 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on May 7, 646,296 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 331,231 in Hong Kong (9,344 had died and 60,483 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 314,983 in Taiwan (907 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
