Beibu Gulf in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region became China's first coastal port to benefit from the departure land port tax refund with the arrival of the X9607 sea-rail intermodal train on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in Qinzhou on May 4.
On April 29, the train loaded with pure cotton semi-bleached fabric and chemical fertilizer left Xi'an in Shaanxi province with cargos loaded into containers for delivery to Indonesia.
These cargos received a total tax return of 180,000 yuan ($26,950), and the taxation handling time was reduced from one month to two to three days.
The Khorgos and Alashankou border crossings in China are the other two that receive a departure land port tax refund.
For enterprises in middle-west China, the new tax refund policy is projected to provide a stable, safe, efficient, and convenient transport channel.
