During the recent May Day holiday that lasted from April 30 to May 4, Hechi received around 1.1 million tourists, and achieved a total tourism consumption revenue of 729.8 million yuan ($109.4 million).

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, local tourism was the most people's choice in Hechi during the recent holiday. Hechi launched local tourism preferential policies, including discounts on tickets and entertainment projects at scenic spots, as well as discounts for hotels and homestays to attract tourists.
Self-driving tours and independent tours have become the main choices for traveling during this year's May Day holiday. The number of independent tourists in major scenic spots such as Luocheng Cotton Tiankeng, Yizhou Liu Sanjie's Hometown Scenic Spot, Nandan Hot Spring International Tourism Resort has increased significantly, with the proportion of independent tourists in scenic spots reaching about 90 percent.
More tourists are showing interest in urban leisure and entertainment activities. During the holiday, the major parks in Hechi were popular choices for citizens to travel. On May 3, nearly 15,000 tourists visited Jinchengjiang Park and Hechi National Park, doubling the usual number of tourists.
In recent years, Hechi has vigorously promoted the construction of holistic tourism. Tourism projects, characteristic towns and beautiful villages have increased the supply of holiday products, providing more choices to meet the diversified travel needs of tourists.
