On April 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,424 new cases of confirmed infections (14 imported cases, 4 in Fujian province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 1,410 indigenous cases, 1,249 in Shanghai municipality, 48 in Beijing municipality, 28 in Guangdong province, 26 in Sichuan province, 20 in Jilin province, 8 in Zhejiang province, 8 in Shandong province, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and 1 in Liaoning province, including 1,013 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 985 in Shanghai municipality, 13 in Jilin province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Shandong province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Hunan province), 47 deaths (all were indigenous cases in Shanghai municipality), and no new cases of suspected infections.

On April 29, 3,127 patients were released from hospital after being cured (32 imported cases; 3,095 indigenous cases, 2,807 in Shanghai municipality, 151 in Jilin province, 59 in Heilongjiang province, 13 in Guangdong province, 10 in Zhejiang province, 10 in Jiangxi province, 9 in Jiangsu province, 8 in Shandong province, 7 in Fujian province, 5 in Hainan province, 4 in Shanxi province, 4 in Henan province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Qinghai province). 48,224 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 41.

As of 24:00 on April 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,177 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,013 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 164 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 215,667 confirmed cases and 5,022 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 184,078 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 26,567 confirmed cases (including 458 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 3,394,349 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 455,894 were still under medical observation.

On April 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 9,369 new asymptomatic cases (76 imported cases; 9,293 indigenous cases, 8,932 in Shanghai municipality, 85 in Liaoning province, 68 in Jiangxi province, 40 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 35 in Jilin province, 31 in Shandong province, 22 in Zhejiang province, 19 in Anhui province, 16 in Guangdong province, 15 in Jiangsu province, 10 in Sichuan province, 6 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Henan province, 2 in Hebei province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region).

On April 29, 14,533 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (88 imported cases; 14,445 indigenous cases, 13,605 in Shanghai municipality, 375 in Jilin province, 97 in Jiangsu province, 79 in Anhui province, 59 in Hebei province, 34 in Henan province, 30 in Hubei province, 29 in Shandong province, 28 in Jiangxi province, 22 in Shanxi province, 20 in Heilongjiang province, 15 in Fujian province, 13 in Zhejiang province, 10 in Liaoning province, 9 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Guangdong province, 6 in Yunnan province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Gansu province, 1 in Hainan province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 1,013 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on April 29, 191,036 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 589 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 29, 431,434 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 330,599 in Hong Kong (9,298 had died and 59,316 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 100,753 in Taiwan (862 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
