Ningyang teacher draws comics for pandemic control, prevention

Zhang Ning, an English teacher at a primary school in Ningyang county, Tai'an, Shandong province, has been drawing comics related to COVID-19 epidemic control and prevention since the latest outbreak in the province.

There is an English line in each piece of Zhang's comics.

"I love drawing comics and this is my way to pay respect to the front-line workers fighting against the COVID-19 epidemic. I hope my drawings will influence students to obey the control and prevention requirements and increase their interest in English," Zhang Ning said.

Due to the epidemic control and prevention requirements, students are taking online classes at home. They were not motivated at the beginning, so Zhang integrated comics drawing into online classes, which soon turned out to be a big success among his students.
