Porsche starts pre-sales of new Taycan variants

German luxury carmaker Porsche has accelerated the electrification process in its lineup, starting pre-sales of the Taycan Cross Turismo crossover and Taycan GTS sedan in China on Wednesday.

Porsche offers four variants of the Taycan Cross Turismo, the first pure electric crossover utility vehicle, making a total of nine Taycan models now available in China.

With new chassis technology, the Taycan Cross Turismo broadens sporty driving scenarios to the road, racetrack and off-road, with ranges up to 523 kilometers.

Compared to the Taycan sedan, the Cross Turismo offers 47 millimeters more headroom for rear passengers, and with a fixed panoramic glass roof as standard in China.

According to Porsche, the Taycan Cross Turismo is the first Porsche to be carbon neutral throughout its lifecycle. This is a milestone in Porsche achieving a carbon dioxide-neutral balance sheet throughout the entire value chain by 2030.

As for charging facilities, Porsche offers home charging, public charging and destination charging at premium hotels.

By mid-April, 119 Porsche centers across 77 cities were equipped with 800-volt turbo-charging piles and 103 public charging stations have been set up in the downtown areas of 20 cities nationwide.

By the end of March, Porsche set up more than 410,000 third-party chargers in more than 200 cities in China.
