The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is getting a number of smart manufacturing projects, which are said to have great potential.
One of them is being developed by HAXC Holdings (Beijing) Co Ltd. The group recently signed up to build a vehicle LCD module and intelligent cockpit display system plant, according to a press statement from the company.
HAXC Holdings is a listed company on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange that is mainly engaged in the customization and selection of core display devices for cockpit electronic products.
With a total investment of 2 billion yuan ($310.22 million), the new NETDA factory will annually produce 10 million LCD modules and 3 million on-board display systems. It will also produce 1 million intelligent cockpit systems, 500,000 intelligent driving systems and 2 million other automotive electronic products after it is fully put into operation.
It is expected to achieve an output value of 5 billion yuan a year, generating tax revenue topping 200 million yuan per annum.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, since March the NETDA's investment bureau has switched over to online promotions. To date, it has carried out no less than 40 video conferences.
