Jabil Green Point Precision Electronics (Wuxi) Co officially agreed to spend 10 billion yuan ($1.49 billion) on its AI intelligent terminal module research and development and manufacturing base project in Wuxi National Hi-tech District on April 22.
The new project will develop the existing factories of Jabil Green Point into an intelligent manufacturing base in order to further raise the intelligent and digital level of production for the enterprise.
Wuxi Party Secretary Du Xiaogang attended the online ceremony and talked to Kenny Wilson, CEO of Jabil Green Point and executive vice president of Jabil Group.
Wilson spoke highly of Wuxi for its solid manufacturing foundation, high-quality talent, and first-class business environment, which has helped Jabil Group develop.
Wilson also mentioned the support provided by the local government of Wuxi to help the company resume operations and operate smoothly in light of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Jabil Group, one of the world's biggest electronics manufacturing service providers, built its Wuxi facility in 2004. It offers manufacturing services to customers in the computing and storage, networking, telecommunications and mobility industries.
After years of development there, its Wuxi operation has become Jabil's largest 5G intelligent manufacturing base with the most complete product line in the world.
