Jiading district, Shanghai's automobile production hub, has taken various epidemic prevention and control measures to help local enterprises resume production, Li Feng, vice-governor of the district, said on Sunday.
Li said that 125 of the key enterprises in the city to resume production are located in Jiading, while 97 of them are involved in the automobile industrial chain.
Enterprises have categorized their staff returning to work according to their COVID-19 risk profile and limited their contact with other groups of workers, said Li.
All the production and living materials entering the factories are required to be subject to strict disinfection and are transported without contact between people, he said. In addition, all enterprises are required to draft emergency plans and set aside quarantine rooms in case of emergencies.
"Jiading-based SAIC Motor, China's largest carmaker, has set up a transfer station to ensure inter-provincial logistics," Li said.
"Also, from the government side, we'll boost service capacity to ensure epidemic prevention and provide daily supplies to enterprises resuming production."
