On April 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 2,988 new cases of confirmed infections (17 imported cases, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, both in Fujian province; 2,971 indigenous cases, 2,736 in Shanghai municipality, 136 in Jilin province, 31 in Heilongjiang province, 11 in Jiangxi province, 10 in Zhejiang province, 9 in Hunan province, 8 in Guangdong province, 6 in Beijing municipality, 6 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Hebei province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Shanxi province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Hubei province, including 1,217 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1,120 in Shanghai municipality, 83 in Jilin province, 6 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Guangdong province, 2 in Qinghai province and 1 in Shanxi province), 12 deaths (all were indigenous cases in Shanghai municipality), and no new cases of suspected infections.

On April 22, 3,127 patients were released from hospital after being cured (17 imported cases; 3,110 indigenous cases, 1,875 in Shanghai municipality, 1,158 in Jilin province, 18 in Zhejiang province, 14 in Guangdong province, 7 in Fujian province, 6 in Heilongjiang province, 6 in Shandong province, 6 in Hainan province, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Shanxi province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Sichuan province). 31,683 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 14.

As of 24:00 on April 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,092 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 17,874 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 218 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 199,074 confirmed cases and 4,686 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 163,726 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 30,662 confirmed cases (including 237 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 3,093,236 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 431,473 were still under medical observation.

On April 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21,423 new asymptomatic cases (68 imported cases; 21,355 indigenous cases, 20,634 in Shanghai municipality, 205 in Jilin province, 172 in Hebei province, 125 in Jiangsu province, 57 in Zhejiang province, 36 in Henan province, 34 in Jiangxi province, 22 in Shandong province, 16 in Anhui province, 14 in Heilongjiang province, 14 in Yunnan province, 9 in Shanxi province, 6 in Qinghai province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Gansu province and 1 in Fujian province).

On April 22, 22,363 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (89 imported cases; 22,274 indigenous cases, 20,768 in Shanghai municipality, 1,126 in Jilin province, 78 in Jiangsu province, 63 in Anhui province, 43 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 40 in Shandong province, 39 in Hebei province, 27 in Hubei province, 24 in Liaoning province, 14 in Fujian province, 10 in Henan province, 9 in Zhejiang province, 7 in Shanxi province, 6 in Yunnan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Hainan province, 4 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 3 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Gansu province and 2 in Sichuan province). 1,219 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 22, 247,348 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 703 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 22, 357,720 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 310,538 in Hong Kong (9,227 had died and 68,656 [The number was revised on April 21, and for more information, please refer to the official website of the Department of Health of Hong Kong.] had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 47,100 in Taiwan (856 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
