International university students have been assisting in the fight against the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai.
Liyicatalina Wuxu, a student at the Shanghai International Studies University, has been helping to check the number of students in each dormitory every night, register nucleic acid results and guide students during mass testing.
"Although I perform almost the same tasks every day, my life has been greatly enriched by these small things. I can deeply feel the warmth of our school, and this gives me a strong sense of belonging," said the Colombian.
Wuxu is not alone. More than 150 international students from SISU have been volunteering with the university's epidemic prevention and control team since the current COVID-19 outbreak started in March.
"Being a foreigner doesn't mean being an outsider. I believe we need to work together to win the fight," said a Sudanese student at SISU with the Chinese name Zhou Yu.
