On April 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 3,316 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Sichuan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Henan province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Sichuan province; 3,297 indigenous cases, 3,084 in Shanghai municipality, 88 in Jilin province, 64 in Heilongjiang province, 20 in Guangdong province, 11 in Jiangsu province, 9 in Jiangxi province, 5 in Shanxi province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Qinghai province, including 1,015 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 974 in Shanghai municipality, 26 in Jilin province, 11 in Guangdong province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Qinghai province), 7 deaths (all were indigenous cases in Shanghai municipality), and no new cases of suspected infections.

On April 18, 1,912 patients were released from hospital after being cured (26 imported cases; 1,886 indigenous cases, 1,211 in Shanghai municipality, 553 in Jilin province, 16 in Shandong province, 15 in Zhejiang province, 13 in Fujian province, 12 in Jiangsu province, 12 in Sichuan province, 10 in Shanxi province, 8 in Heilongjiang province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Guangdong province, 5 in Qinghai province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Hainan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Anhui province and 1 in Yunnan province). 39,131 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 4.

As of 24:00 on April 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,042 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 17,792 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 250 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 5 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 188,351 confirmed cases and 4,648 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 153,319 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 30,384 confirmed cases (including 75 cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases. 2,908,653 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 418,331 were still under medical observation.

On April 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18,284 new asymptomatic cases (97 imported cases; 18,187 indigenous cases, 17,332 in Shanghai municipality, 384 in Jilin province, 122 in Jiangsu province, 60 in Anhui province, 46 in Zhejiang province, 42 in Jiangxi province, 31 in Heilongjiang province, 28 in Hebei province, 28 in Shanxi province, 22 in Henan province, 16 in Liaoning province, 16 in Shandong province, 15 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 13 in Hubei province, 13 in Yunnan province, 6 in Fujian province, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Gansu province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region).

On April 18, 23,529 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (110 imported cases; 23,419 indigenous cases, 22,075 in Shanghai municipality, 941 in Jilin province, 68 in Anhui province, 66 in Shandong province, 57 in Jiangsu province, 42 in Hebei province, 35 in Liaoning province, 23 in Guangdong province, 19 in Fujian province, 16 in Heilongjiang province, 15 in Hubei province, 12 in Jiangxi province, 11 in Henan province, 8 in Zhejiang province, 8 in Qinghai province, 6 in Shanxi province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Hainan province, 3 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 1,020 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 18, 276,499 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 754 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 18, 345,906 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 309,841 in Hong Kong (9,159 had died and 67,285 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 35,983 in Taiwan (854 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
