Suzhou Everbright Photonics Co, a laser chip manufacturer that started operating in Suzhou New District in 2012, was officially listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange on April 1.
Everbright's offering price reached 80.8 yuan ($12.68) per share, issuing 33.9 million shares and raising 2.74 billion yuan in total funds – a record among its manufacturing counterparts in Suzhou.
The funds will be mainly used to expand capacity for high-end laser chips, device and module projects and the construction of an R&D center. It is expected to further strengthen the company's technological R&D capabilities and improve related systems so as to continue to enhance the company's innovation capabilities and core competitiveness.
Since its establishment, Everbright has been striving to become an industrial leader in the research and development, production, and sale of high-end laser chips and has developed overwhelming superiority in chip design, wafer processing technology, package testing, and fiber coupling.
The company has also worked with the local government to establish the Suzhou Semiconductor Laser Innovation Research Institute, which has attracted top talent from across the globe in technological innovation and has undertaken a variety of national and provincial scientific research projects.
