The national Innovation China project recently released the ranking of its 65 pilot cities, and Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – was ranked third because of its comprehensive development.
Innovation China is a project launched by the China Association for Science and Technology – designed to promote the integration of technology and the economy, cooperation between scientists and entrepreneurs and the technological upgrading and transformation of companies.
After being selected as a pilot city for Innovation China, Guiyang is understood to have given full play to its advantages in sci-tech related personnel and organizations. Moreover, it has created platforms for the integration of technology and the economy, and has reportedly achieved real progress in its development as a pilot city.
Plans are that in the current year, the Guiyang Association for Science & Technology will cooperate with its members and other Guiyang municipal government departments, to utilize national and provincial resources and help upgrade the city's sci-tech innovation capabilities and its industries.
