Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is holding a tourism promotion event at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport on Feb 28.
The event aims to promote the "Cool Guiyang" image as well as the unique tourist attractions of the city's districts, counties and county-level cities.
In 2021, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport transported 16.96 million people, an increase of 2.3 percent year-on-year and the 17th highest in the nation. The airport operated 218 air routes, including 212 domestic ones and six international freight routes.
Guizhou has opened seven high-speed railways totaling 1,550.2 kilometers. Its first intercity circular express railway will start operating this year, and the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway is expected to open in 2023, which will promote the development of Guiyang's regional tourism.
The bullet trains naming after "Cool Guiyang" are running along the Guiyang-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Kunming Railway, Shanghai-Kunming Railway, and Chengdu-Guiyang Railway to give publicity to Guiyang's delicious food, beautiful scenery, and unique culture.
In the future, Guiyang will cooperate with media outlets across the country to shoot videos, online livestreams and short plays to showcase Guiyang's beauty throughout the four seasons of the year and help it become a world famous summer resort.
