CCID Urban Economic Research Center recently issued a report on the top 100 dynamic cities in China, in which Maoming, Guangdong province ranked 85th.
The report assessed the dynamic vitality of cities from eight dimensions, namely economic vitality, innovation vitality, population vitality, investment vitality, consumption vitality, openness vitality, transportation vitality, and ecological vitality.
In recent years, Maoming has continuously improved its transportation infrastructure and network. The Jiangmen-Maoming section of the Shenzhen-Maoming railway was completed and opened to traffic, while the Maoming comprehensive passenger transport hub was basically completed. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2015-20), Maoming has completed an investment of 3.64 billion yuan ($573.36 million) in the construction of rural roads. At present, the mileage of rural roads in Maoming has reached 16,500 kilometers.
In the past five years, Maoming has introduced a total investment of more than 50 million yuan, while 281 key projects have been implemented, with an investment of more than 46.5 billion yuan.
Maoming is an excellent tourist city in China and a national garden city. It possesses 21 islands and a coastline of 182.1 kilometers. Its forest coverage rate is nearly 60 percent, while it has ranked among the top in Guangdong province in the comprehensive index of urban air quality for many years.
