Works of art dating from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) to today, including ceramics, paintings and Buddhist statues, will be on show at Christie's gallery in Hong Kong from April 1 to 4 and 7 to 13. They will go under the hammer at the auctioneer's spring sales scheduled for May.
Highlights include a Yuan qinghua cobalt blue plum vase patterned with blooming peonies, a collection of ink-on-silk landscape paintings by Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) artist Yao Yunzai, which depicts varying views of the area located between the northern bank of the Yangtze River's lower reach and the Huaihe River, and horse paintings by modern artist Xu Beihong. Works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Yayoi Kusama, as well as jewelries, luxury handbags and watches will also be on show.
