Yantai food company wins provincial honor for excellent quality

Yantai-based Shuangta Foods Company was included in the list of the first batch of "Shandong Good Products" for its high-quality products including Longkou fensi, plant protein, and starch.

Shuangta's traditional Longkou fensi manufacturing methods were added to the State Council's list of China's national intangible cultural heritages in 2014.

Longkou fensi, a type of vermicelli made from bean starch, is a traditional cuisine that's famous throughout China. The vermicelli is tender, refreshing, smooth, and chewy. No additives are used in its production.

The history of Longkou fensi dates back more than 300 years. It originated in Zhaoyuan, Yantai and gradually spread to Longkou, Penglai, Laizhou, Qixia, and Haiyang.

Over years of development, Yantai Shuangta Foods Company is now a world-leading producer of fensi, pea starch, and plant protein, and it has a total value of 4.3 billion yuan ($677.6 billion). The company was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2010, becoming the only listed company in the fensi industry.
