On Monday, a freight train was launched from Yinchuan to Tianjin Port, which is of great significance when it comes to the transportation of exports and will further expand the opening up of Ningxia.
The freight train, loaded with 2,345 tons of local Ningxia products, including goji berries, manganese-silicon alloy and dicyandiamide, left Tianjin Port and headed for countries in East Asia, with the shipment to carry on to South America.
The railway-sea freight service adopts a new transportation mode that uses just one multimodal transport document to ensure the goods are transported by rail-sea to the destination.
Zhang Xiaomei, of the foreign trade department of Ningxia Wolfberry Industrial Co Ltd, said that the goji berries of the company are currently exported to 27 regions and countries. With the support of the government, railway and Tianjin Port, the company was able to enjoy the railway-sea freight service for the first time, which they found bother efficient and convenient.
Ningxia will strengthen cooperation with local enterprises, provide them with "one-stop" transportation services, and ensure the smooth operation of the rail-sea freight service.
