26 Hechi units win autonomous-region-level forest unit honor

Recently, 119 units were awarded the autonomous-region-level forest unit honor by the Afforestation Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, of which 26 units were from Hechi.

In recent years, Hechi has adhered to the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," promoted the creation of a national forest city, as well as focused on the implementation of key ecological projects, such as the Pearl River shelter forest, the comprehensive treatment of rocky desertification in the karst areas, "green beautiful countryside" rural construction, forest quality upgrading, and forest landscape transformation.

Since 2016, the city has planted 2 million mu (133,333 hectares) of trees, cultivate 4.47 million mu of forests, and voluntarily planted 31.32 million trees. The city's forest resources have continued to increase, while its ecological environment has continued to improve. In 2020, the city's forest coverage rate reached 71.32 percent, an increase of 2.58 percentage points compared with 2015.
