Spring, the best season to admire the beauty of flowers, has arrived, bringing plum blossoms that began blooming in the middle of February.
In Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, locals and tourists have been flocking to parks to enjoy the seasonal spectacle since Lantern Festival, which fell on Feb 26 this year.
"The best plum blossoms in Yangzhou are at the Slender West Lake, Zhuyuwan Scenic Spot and the west peak of Shugang range," said Zhang Ronghui, an official from Yangzhou tourism distribution center.
Also many Yangzhou natives choose to appreciate the flowers in other cities nearby. Nanjing's Plum Blossom Mountain, Suzhou's Xiangxuehai Scenic Spot and Wuxi's Plum Garden are the most popular scenic spots among Yangzhou people, Zhang added.
In addition, cherry blossoms, peach blossoms and rape flowers will bloom successively after plum blossoms until April, providing an enjoyable and fragrant spring.
According to Tuniu, a China's online travel agency, from the following March, the tourism market will enter a peak season in China and other countries alike, and the fever may continue until the beginning of May.
During this period, Women's Day, Tomb Sweeping Day and Labor Day will see a tourist boom.
