Southwest China's Guizhou province over-fulfilled all its development targets in the big data field in 2021, laying a solid foundation for the development of the digital economy.
According to the Big Data Development Administration of Guizhou, the province's investment in the big data field reached 15.76 billion yuan ($2.48 billion), which increased by 7.22 percent year-on-year and was 756 million yuan higher than the annual target.
In 2021, Guizhou established 27,000 5G base stations, constructed 165,500 kilometers of optical cables, accessed 1.45 million optical interfaces, and had 1.37 million families connected with optical fibers, and the Guiyang-Guian national internet core direct connect node expanded 190 gigabytes and was directly connected with 28 cities.
In addition, Guizhou's construction plan for the national hub node of the integrated computing power network was approved, and the largest cloud data center of Huawei Cloud was launched in Guizhou last year.
