When spring comes, the sight of Shahe town in Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province is refreshing. Over 330 hectares of cherry trees bloom, attracting loads of tourists.
Shahe is located within reach of Jinniu Shudao, a post road dating back more than 3,000 years. Numerous cherry trees are planted around the homes in this town.
In recent years, the town has focused on promoting rural tourism, integrating flower viewing, homestays, dining and entertainment. Local residents have been able to increase their combined income by over 4 million yuan annually by establishing more than 30 agritainment resorts.
