China Resources Microelectronics, a micro electronic product and semiconductor manufacturer, and Wuxi National Hi-tech District signed agreements for a series of industrial upgrading projects on Feb 28.
Officials said these new projects will further improve the enterprise's core competitiveness, complement the high-end links of the city's semiconductor industrial chain, and continue to consolidate Wuxi's position as an important industrial town in China's semiconductor industry.
Zhao Jianjun, acting mayor of Wuxi, attended the signing ceremony and expressed gratitude for the company's long-term support for the city's economic development.
Zhao said that CR Micro is an important partner of Wuxi in developing the integrated circuit industry. Wuxi is focusing on building the IC industry into one of its most important industries, and it will need more cooperation with leading companies such as CR Micro.
Li Hong, CEO of CR Micro, said Wuxi is home to the company's operational headquarters and manufacturing center. The company has made significant progress in its development over the years thanks to the city's solid industrial foundation and favorable business environment.
Li said he expected more support from the city's government to help the company make new technology upgrades and achieve further development in IC industry.
