On March 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 281 new cases of confirmed infections (179 imported cases, 79 in Guangdong province, 24 in Shanghai municipality, 16 in Fujian province, 12 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 11 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Beijing municipality, 9 in Shandong province, 8 in Sichuan province, 3 in Henan province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Gansu province, including 16 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Guangdong, 5 in Sichuan, 2 in Henan, 2 in Guangxi, 1 in Liaoning and 1 in Zhejiang; 102 indigenous cases, 46 in Guangdong including 24 in Dongguan, 21 in Shenzhen and 1 in Huizhou, 19 in Jilin including 8 in Jilin city, 6 in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture and 5 in Changchun, 8 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region including 5 in Hohhot and 3 in Hulunbuir, 6 in Hebei province including 3 in Xingtai, 2 in Shijiazhuang and 1 in Baoding, 5 in Qingdao, Shandong, 3 in Dongli district, Tianjin, 3 in Shanghai including 2 in Jiading district and 1 in Minhang district, 3 in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, 2 in Sanya, Hainan province, 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, 1 in Jinzhong, Shanxi province, 1 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, 1 in Wuhan, Hubei province, 1 in Huaihua, Hunan province and 1 in Chengdu, Sichuan, including 9 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong, 3 in Guangxi, 1 in Shanxi, 1 in Hainan and 1 in Sichuan), 5 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 120 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 5,835 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 4.

As of 24:00 on March 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 15,189 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 13,023 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,166 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 11 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on March 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 110,539 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 102,438 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,465 confirmed cases (including 14 cases in serious condition) and 11 suspected cases. 1,673,729 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 92,578 were still under medical observation.

On March 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 166 new asymptomatic cases (93 imported cases; 73 indigenous cases, 24 in Jilin city, Jilin, 18 in Dongguan, Guangdong, 16 in Shanghai including 6 in Songjiang district, 5 in Jiading district, 2 in Qingpu district, 1 in Huangpu district, 1 in Putuo district and 1 in Baoshan district, 8 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, 4 in Guangxi including 3 in Fangchenggang and 1 in Baise, 1 in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, 1 in Nantong, Jiangsu and 1 in Wuhan, Hubei ). 28 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 25 imported cases) and 25 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 16 imported cases). As of 24:00 on March 4, 1,500 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,049 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on March 4, 190,312 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 169,513 in Hong Kong (1,554 had died and 21,143 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (79 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 20,717 in Taiwan (853 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
