Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released the first batch of agricultural products with geographical indications (GI) in 2022. Two products from Hechi's Nandan county were included on the list, namely Nandan Yao chicken and Nandan Liulong tea, which were the only two products selected from Hechi.
Nandan Yao chicken was originally a pheasant breed and domesticated by the Baiku Yao ethnic group. Yao chickens are a local species renowned for their strong adaptability, foraging ability, and resistance to disease. Their meat is firm and tender, tasting delicious and sweet with less subcutaneous fat. Nandan can achieve an annual output of more than 7 million chickens per year.

Nandan Liulong tea is produced in Longma village, Liuzhai town, Nandan county, where the low latitude and high altitude provide suitable conditions for growing tea. The tea has a long cultivation history of more than 800 years. The planting area of Liulong tea in the county is 3,820 mu (255 hectares), with an annual output of 1,180 metric tons of fresh tea leaves.
