On March 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 214 new cases of confirmed infections (160 imported cases, 66 in Guangdong province, 39 in Shanghai municipality, 11 in Beijing municipality, 9 in Jilin province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Sichuan province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Shandong province, 2 in Hubei province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Anhui province and 1 in Gansu province, including 24 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 12 in Guangdong, 6 in Sichuan, 5 in Henan and 1 in Guangxi; 54 indigenous cases, 28 in Guangdong including 23 in Shenzhen and 5 in Dongguan, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region including 6 in Hohhot and 1 in Baotou, 4 in Wuhan, Hubei, 3 in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture, Jilin, 3 in Putuo district, Shanghai, 2 in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, 1 in Binhai New Area, Tianjin, 1 in Handan, Hebei province, 1 in Jinzhong, Shanxi province, 1 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, 1 in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, 1 in Chengdu, Sichuan and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Guangxi), 5 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 119 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,757 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on March 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 14,777 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,934 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,843 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on March 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 109,964 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 102,234 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,094 confirmed cases (including 20 cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases. 1,658,062 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 86,697 were still under medical observation.
On March 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 143 new asymptomatic cases (106 imported cases; 37 indigenous cases, 9 in Yunnan including 6 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, 2 in Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture and 1 in Lincang, 7 in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture, Jilin, 6 in Guangdong including 3 in Dongguan, 2 in Shenzhen and 1 in Huizhou, 6 in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, 5 in Shanghai including 3 in Putuo district, 1 in Baoshan district and 1 in Jiading district, 3 in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang and 1 in Sanya, Hainan province). 28 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 27 imported cases) and 26 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 24 imported cases). As of 24:00 on March 2, 1,298 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 951 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on March 2, 139,084 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 118,420 in Hong Kong (1,168 had died and 20,085 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 82 in Macao (79 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 20,582 in Taiwan (853 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
