2022 Taihu innovation, entrepreneurship competition starts

The 2022 China Taihu International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition kicked off in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Feb 24.

This year's competition will include competitions for groups and enterprises with topics such as new-generation information technology, life and health, advanced manufacturing, new materials, new energy, and the metaverse.

The group competition is divided into city competition, ranking competition, international competition and special competition, mainly geared toward entrepreneurial teams who want to register and establish enterprises in Wuxi (including Jiangyin and Yixing).

In addition to Wuxi, the semi-finals of the city competition will be held in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Shenyang, and Xi'an. The ranking competition will be held in Beijing and Shanghai, focusing on life and health and digital economy industries.

According to organizers, winners of the competition will share a bonus pool totaling 1.68 million yuan ($266,028) and receive various benefits in conducting their business in Wuxi. Those meeting the relevant conditions will be included in the Wuxi Innovation Fund Project and receive financial support of up to 1 billion yuan.

Registration for the competition will be open until May 31. The preliminary and semi-finals will be held in June.

Last year's competition attracted over 5,200 projects, among which over 100 projects were carried out in Wuxi.
