Qingchuan county of Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province, plans to invest 1.5 billion yuan ($234.87 million) to build the Tangjiahe national tourism resort. At present, 45 projects in the first phase of construction have started and six have already been finished.
The entire first phase will be completed by the end of August in order to take advantage of the opening of the Guangyuan-Pingwu Expressway.
The expressway, connecting Qingchuan county and Pingwu county, is scheduled to be put into use in September. After completion, it will serve as a lifeline for Qingchuan's economic and social development.
Also, it will become the most convenient way to enter Jiuzhaigou Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, from North China, helping the county usher in a golden period of tourism.
Tangjiahe is recognized as a summer retreat, a "natural oxygen bar" and one of the best places to observe wildlife in China.
