North China city reports 5 new local COVID-19 cases

HOHHOT -- Hohhot, the capital city of north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, reported five new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases between midnight on Tuesday and 2 pm Wednesday, according to a press conference.
By 2 p.m. Wednesday, 223 local confirmed cases, including seven severe cases and two critical cases, had been registered in the city during the latest resurgence.
Of the confirmed cases, nine are aged above 80 and 12 are below 14.
To date, the city has traced 9,573 close contacts and 4,645 secondary close contacts amid the latest outbreak and will launch its sixth mass nucleic acid testing at 7 am Thursday.
