Hubei province reported four new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Monday, the province's health commission said on Monday night. All the cases were found in its capital Wuhan.
The cases, including three travelers from outside the city and one of their close contacts, tested positive for the virus on Monday afternoon and have been sent to Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital for quarantine and treatment, according to a statement released by the city's epidemic prevention and control headquarters on Monday night.
In the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 20 locally transmitted cases were found on Monday, including 18 in its capital Hohhot, and one each in the cities of Baotou and Bayannuur, the region's health commission said on Tuesday.
The region also reported another two asymptomatic carriers in Bayannuur.
As of 2 pm on Monday, Hohhot had reported 168 locally transmitted cases in the latest outbreak, officials said at a news conference on Monday afternoon.
The coronavirus risk level of three areas of the city has been raised to high, as nearly 8,500 close contacts have been traced.
