On Feb 20, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 144 new cases of confirmed infections (73 imported cases, 27 in Shanghai municipality, 20 in Guangdong province, 9 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Fujian province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Gansu province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong, 2 in Sichuan, 1 in Jiangsu and 1 in Guangxi; 71 indigenous cases, 32 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region including 30 in Hohhot, 1 in Baotou and 1 in Bayannuur, 11 in Jiangsu including 10 in Suzhou and 1 in Wuxi, 7 in Huludao, Liaoning province, 6 in Shenzhen, Guangdong, 5 in Jinzhong, Shanxi province, 4 in Chengdu, Sichuan, 4 in Yunnan province including 3 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture and 1 in Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, and 2 in Jixi, Heilongjiang province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Yunnan, 1 in Inner Mongolia and 1 in Jiangsu), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 42 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,039 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Feb 20, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 13,472 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,589 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 883 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Feb 20, the National Health Commission had received reports of 107,851 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 101,491 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,724 confirmed cases (including 10 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,582,455 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 36,791 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 20, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 38 new asymptomatic cases (23 imported cases; 15 indigenous cases, 6 in Jiangsu including 5 in Wuxi and 1 in Suzhou, 3 in Chengdu, Sichuan, 2 in Jixi, Heilongjiang, 2 in Minhang district, Shanghai, 1 in Shenzhen, Guangdong and 1 in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 27 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 26 imported cases) and 12 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (7 were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 20, 686 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 572 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 20, 42,554 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 22,468 in Hong Kong (288 had died and 16,190 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 20,007 in Taiwan (852 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
