Zhanjiang's per capita disposable income up 7.1% in 2020

The per capita disposable income of residents in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province reached 24,986.3 yuan ($3856.72) in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percent, and the growth rate was higher than both the national and provincial levels.

When adjusted for inflation, the real per capita disposable income of residents in Zhanjiang increased by 4.9 percent, meaning it's maintaining a steady growth. 

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the average annual growth rate of per capita disposable income of Zhanjiang urban residents was 8.5 percent, surpassing the target value of 8 percent, and the income development target was achieved on schedule.

In terms of urban and rural areas, in 2020, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in Zhanjiang reached 32,925.6 yuan, a nominal increase of 5.6 percent, and a real increase of 3.2 percent when adjusted for inflation.

The per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 18,758.2 yuan, a nominal increase of 8.2 percent and a real increase of 5.9 percent when adjusted for inflation. The real growth rate increased by 0.3 percentage points year-on-year.  

The city has been actively promoting the employment of rural migrant workers; steadily advancing the reform of rural land systems and the property rights systems of collective economic organizations; comprehensively promoting the rural revitalization strategy and targeted poverty alleviation; and helping farmers raise their incomes through multiple channels.

In 2020, the growth rate of the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 2.6 percentage points higher than that of urban residents.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), Zhanjiang's urban-rural income ratio gradually narrowed from 1.86 in 2016 to 1.75 in 2020.
