Guangyuan in Southwest China's Sichuan province was a hot destination for many visitors during the Spring Festival holiday.
The Heishipo Forest Park and Dahua 1939 Cultural and Creative Park displayed traditional folk arts, such as Sichuan Opera face-changing performances and acrobatics, every day. Treasure-hunting and photo-taking activities were also popular among the tourists.
At Jianmenguan, a state-level scenic spot in Jiange county, Guangyuan, people welcomed the God of Wealth, went to fairs and enjoyed light shows. On Feb 2 and 3, two days before Spring Festival, the area received over 50,000 visits.
Huangze Temple, which was built to commemorate Empress Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), offered dramas about China's only empress. Travelers also had an opportunity to play ancient Chinese games, including touhu -- throwing arrows into wine pitchers.
Sichuan Opera performers put on highlights from the drama for audiences at the Qianfoya Museum. Foreign attendees gave the celebrations a thumbs up, saying it was fantastic to learn about another culture while enjoying beautiful scenery.
