The ISA Wuhan International School located in the Junshan New City of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) recently started receiving students, according to local news reports on Feb 12. The first group of foreign faculty members will arrive in Wuhan this month and take part in training programs.
The school has received official approval to start operating in January, with a total investment of over 1.6 billion yuan ($94.32 million) and a planned enrollment capacity of 4,000. It is considered the largest international education project in Central China.
The school is expected to be completed by April, begin trial operations in May, and open in September.
It occupies a total area of 183,000 square meters, including kindergartens, primary schools and junior and senior high schools and boasting full-fledged facilities such as teaching buildings, dormitories, libraries, sci-tech museums, canteens, auditoriums, stadiums, theaters and playgrounds.
It even features a school for the children of expats and a private foreign language school, and will accept students aged 3 to 18 from all over the world.
