Wuxi-based high-tech firms support 'green' Olympics

Starting at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics on Feb 4, various types of advanced technologies have been used.

Two Wuxi-based enterprises, SINENG Electric and Wuxi Sun King Power Capacitor Co, are providing green power supply for the sports event with advanced power energy storage systems.

SINENG Electric took part in the "new energy storage system" project, according to Zhou Bin, director of the company's energy storage solution department.

The energy storage converters and energy storage battery container systems provided by the firm, which are cheap and highly-efficient, are easy to install and operat. The high-consistency grade A lithium iron phosphate battery loaded on the system is able to provide safe, long-term and deep-charging services to meet the frequency regulation requirements of power stations.

Zhou said it was the only company in Jiangsu province to provide power storage guarantees for the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Wuxi Sun King Power Capacitor Co supported the production of capacitors for the Zhangbei renewable energy flexible direct current grid test and demonstration project.

As the world's first DC networked power grid project, it is of great significance in improving the deliverability of clean energy and supporting the "green" Olympics, according to officials.
