Feb 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 99 new cases of confirmed infections (59 imported cases, 24 in Guangdong province, 14 in Fujian province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Heilongjiang province, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Guangdong, 4 in Sichuan and 1 in Guangxi; 40 indigenous cases, 30 in Baise, Guangxi and 10 in Huludao, Liaoning), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 87 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,623 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Feb 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 12,951 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,278 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 673 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Feb 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 106,863 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 100,791 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,436 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,555,374 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 37,471 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 41 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 40 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 36 imported cases) and 10 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 11, 823 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 741 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 11, 36,117 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 16,583 in Hong Kong (216 had died and 14,037 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 19,455 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
