Qixia wins provincial recognition for green development

The county-level city of Qixia in Yantai, East China's Shandong province was recognized as a provincial innovation base for practicing the concept that "clear waters and green mountains are invaluable assets", according to a notice released by the Department of Ecology and Environment of Shandong Province.

Qixia is surrounded by green mountains and has beautiful landscapes. It has a rich and vibrant history and culture as well as an abundance of intangible cultural heritage items.

In recent years, the local government has beefed up efforts to promote the construction of a green city with Jiaodong culture.

Efforts have also been made to advance the integrated development of industry and city, and a complete working mechanism was established to advance the construction of an ecological civilization and promote environmental protection.

Blessed with a unique ecological environment and rich natural resources, Qixia has explored innovative ways to turn such strengths into growth drivers for high-quality development.
