Haimen opens new provincial engineering research center

Jiangsu Tongguang Cable Co Ltd in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was included on the 2021 list of provincial engineering research centers released by the Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, local media reported on Jan 20.

The Jiangsu Aviation Equipment Cable (Aviation Wire) Engineering Research Center, built by Jiangsu Tongguang Cable, is an important innovation platform in the district's new-generation information technology industrial chain.

To cut reliance on imports in the high-end aviation equipment cable industry, the research center will carry out research on aviation cables and optical cables and pursue innovation in relevant key technologies.

A total of 18 million yuan ($2.83 million) was invested in the construction of the center platform and construction is expected to finish in 2023.

According to the Haimen development and reform commission, the district has eight provincial engineering research centers, which will work to improve key technologies and equipment in industrial development to accelerate overall development and increase competitiveness in the industrial chain.
