On Jan 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 81 new cases of confirmed infections (27 imported cases, 10 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Guangdong; 54 indigenous cases, 20 in Beijing including 13 in Fengtai district, 4 in Daxing district, 2 in Chaoyang district and 1 in Xicheng district, 19 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, 8 in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang province, 4 in Tianjin municipality including 3 in Hebei district and 1 in Jinnan district, 2 in Henan including 1 in Anyang and 1 in Sanmenxia, and 1 in Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Beijing and 1 in Henan), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 182 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 4,997 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Jan 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 12,547 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 11,631 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 916 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Jan 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 106,015 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 99,353 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,026 confirmed cases (including 10 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,519,457 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 39,072 were still under medical observation.

On Jan 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 65 new asymptomatic cases (49 imported cases; 16 indigenous cases, 12 in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, 2 in the fourth division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 1 in Ruzhou, Henan and 1 in Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 38 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 36 imported cases) and 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Jan 29, 800 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 678 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Jan 29, 32,373 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 13,613 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,730 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 18,681 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
