It is also home to 2,381 national small and medium-sized science and technology enterprises, 1,301 national high-tech enterprises, 283 gazelle enterprises, 29 unicorn breeding enterprises, and 24 listed enterprises.
According to SND's three-year plan on cultivating innovation-driven enterprises, SND should, by the end of 2023, be home to more than 2,200 national high-tech enterprises, 4,300 provincial-level high-tech private enterprises, and 1,900 national high-tech SMEs. It should also nurture more than 19 unicorn enterprises and 60 gazelle enterprises at all levels.
To realize its goal as soon as possible, SND will work to strengthen the leading positions of its innovative enterprises, highlight the importance of high-caliber professionals, focus on the forward-looking layout of colleges and research institutes, and promote the supporting role of scientific and technological services.
SND is currently speeding up construction on a Taihu Lake scientific and technological industrial circle and an innovative industrial belt connecting Shanghai and Nanjing.
